Month in the Country – tea set

– equity showcase theatre –
1993

When there is no money for a theatre production, as was the case here, paper mache, masking tape, cardboard, glue and cheap acrylic paint come in very handy.

This tea set was made out of the aforementioned materials. The armature for the teapot is newspaper crunched into the right shape and pushed into a plastic bag. I made the bowls by cutting corrugated cardboard

I glued a spout, handle and lid (made of cardboard and paper) on it with hot glue and put paper mache over it.

The designer, Cecile Belec, and I painted it together.
